Our Services
As the years have progressed HALA has recognized an increased need for quality supports not only within Grays Harbor but also our community at large. With this in mind, HALA has been strategically adding services that can not only holistically support our existing client base but also the greater community. Here are the services we are currently offering (with more on the on the way). We are affectionately calling our core services our, Circle of Support. At the end of the day, we want to surround the people we serve with all the supports they may need to successfully navigate their life and their communities - increasing their independence as their desires and abilities allow.

Supported Living
Supported Living services help persons live in their own homes with one to three others and receive instruction and support from contracted service providers. Supports vary from a few hours per month up to 24 hours per day. This includes one-on–one support and services are based on individual need and the sharing of support within a household. Services are offered in integrated settings and support personal power, choice, and full access to the greater community. Individuals pay their own rent, food, and other personal expenses.
Levels of service are varied by the persons needs. Those levels can found here.

Staff Training
Initiative 1163 enacted increased training and certification requirements for workers hired on or after January 7, 2012. Most new direct care workers (now called long-term care workers) must take 75 hours of training within 120 days of hire. Also, most long-term care workers must become certified home care aides within 150 days of hire.
HALA offers training for Long Term Care Workers (LTCW) to fulfill initial and ongoing continuing education requirements. This training is free to HALA's employees. When space allows, this training is available to others for a fee to cover the complete cost of the course.
HALA also contracts with a local provider for First Aid/CPR and Blood-borne Pathogens certifications. When space allows, these courses are also available to the public for a fee.
